A plum accord can suggest dark purple fruit, soft flesh and a mixture of sweetness and gentle tartness. Damascones and damascenone are among the fragrance materials that can contribute plum, berry, rose, tobacco and honey-like qualities. The common cultivated plum is Prunus domestica, a temperate fruit tree with origins from the Transcaucasus to northern Iran.
