What Is the Sweet Fragrance Accord?

A sweet accord usually smells soft, rich or sugary, but the exact character depends on how the sweetness is built. Vanilla can feel creamy and smooth, honey can be richer and more floral, almond can feel nutty, and benzoin can add balsamic vanilla-like warmth. Cacao and coffee can introduce darker or more bitter contrasts, preventing the sweetness from becoming too simple.

What Does the Sweet Accord Smell Like?

Sweetness in perfume has many textures. Vanilla and tonka bean can create a soft, rounded effect, while honey can feel denser and more golden. Almond and praline can give the composition a nutty direction. Benzoin is especially useful because its balsamic sweetness can bridge vanilla-like effects with warmer resinous materials.

Coffee and cacao show why Sweet and Gourmand are not identical. Both can contribute to an edible impression, but their roasted or bitter sides can also provide contrast to sweeter materials.
