What Does Hyacinth Smell Like in Perfume?

Hyacinth in perfume usually smells fresh, green and floral, with watery, earthy, slightly spicy and dewy sides. It has more leafy sharpness than many soft spring flowers. Some hyacinth accords feel cool and transparent, while others are richer, greener and slightly powdery. Hyacinth is mainly used in the heart.

Where Does Hyacinth Come From?

The common hyacinth is Hyacinthus orientalis, native from southern Türkiye towards northern Israel. In modern perfumery, hyacinth is usually recreated from floral, green, watery and earthy fragrance materials rather than produced as a widely used natural flower extract.
