Aquatic & Mineral Fragrance Notes

Aquatic and mineral fragrance notes often smell fresh, airy, watery, salty or cool. Some can also have green, slightly metallic, stony or sea-like qualities. They are grouped here because they create related fresh and mineral effects, but the category itself is different from an Aquatic accord or a fragrance family such as Fresh & Bright.

Wet flint stones, sea salt crystals and green seaweed on a pale seafoam blue background

The Aquatic & Mineral category brings together fragrance notes that suggest water, sea air, salt, cool stone or other crisp mineral effects. In Luxaro's fragrance note encyclopaedia, this includes flint, icy accord, marine notes, sea salt and seaweed. Several of these are scent impressions created by perfumers rather than literal extracts of seawater, salt or stone.
